# CHAPTER II – THE SPLINTERED SPIRITS

As the Void Hunger descended, Soulborne knew it could not protect the world alone.\
Channeling its remaining cosmic flame, it shattered its own spirit into **5555 fragments**, each becoming a newborn Kitsune Soul — glowing, conscious, and bound by destiny.

These fragments scattered across realms:\
Some fell into forests, others drifted into deserts, mountains, oceans, and even into unseen spiritual planes. Each fragment developed unique markings, elements, and auras depending on where it awakened.

Every Kitsune Soul carried a piece of the First Flame — the power to resist the Void and shape the future.

But they also inherited a prophecy:

> **"When the Void rises again, the Souls must reunite… or all light will fade."**

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://kitsune-soul.gitbook.io/kitsunesoul/kitsune-soul-official-lore/the-spirit-of-a-thousand-flames/chapter-ii-the-splintered-spirits.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
